M.Phil and Ph.D Programmes
Applications are invited (in Form A) for admission to M.Phil. and Ph.D. programmes in different subjects (as specified on University website www.uniraj.ac.in). As per new rules, admissions to these programmes will be made through an entrance test (UnirajMPAT) for each subject / discipline. Students willing to seek admission in affiliated colleges are also required to take this Test. Students who have qualified UGC/CSIR NET/ SLET (conducted by Rajasthan State only)/ GATE/ Teacher fellowship holder will be exempted from the test. For M.Phil. programme, teachers permanently appointed prior to 199192 and for Ph.D. programme permanent teachers appointed on a substantive basis with three years of continuous service on regular pay scale are also exempted from UnirajMPAT.
However, students/teachers exempted from the Test are required to fill in Form B. The Test will consist of two papers. Paper I will be common to all the candidates and paper II will be separate for each Department/Centre.

Degree Programs offered in the University Departments of Anna University Chennai, Anna University Coimbatore, Anna University Trichy and Anna University Tirunelveli, Government, Government Aided institutions, and seats surrendered by the Self Financing Engineering Colleges in Tamil Nadu for the academic year 2010 - 2011 through single window (TANCA 2010) counselling.

APPLICATION FORM
Candidates should submit separate application for each category as given below.
(1) GATE Category (GATE-A 2010 score or GATE-B 2010 score with TANCET 2010 score)
(2) NON-GATE category – (TANCET 2010 score only)
(3) Sponsored category (with TANCET 2010 score) only for University Departments of Anna University Chennai.
Eligibility : Candidates who have passed in all the subjects in the qualifying degree with TANCET 2010 score or valid GATE - A 2010 score or valid GATE - B 2010 score with TANCET 2010 score.
The details of eligibility criteria for admission to M.E. / M.Tech. / M.Arch./ M.Plan. Degree Programs are available in the Information Booklet and also in the Anna University Chennai website. Candidates who have appeared for final year / semester examinations in April / May 2010 may also apply.
Reservation for Differently abled candidates are available as per the Government norms under GATE / Non - GATE categories.

By Post : TANCA 2010 Application Form can also be obtained by post by sending a Demand Draft for Rs. 600/- for general (Rs. 350/- for SC / SCA / ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu by enclosing a copy of Permanent Community Certificate card), (includes postal charges) along with a requisition letter and an address slip written in capital letters from the The Secretary, TANCA, Anna University Chennai, Chennai - 600 025.
Registration through Internet : TANCA 2010 Application Form, information and instructions to candidates are available in the website www.annauniv.edu/tanca2010. The print out application and registration fee for Rs. 500/- for General (Rs. 250/- for SC / SCA / ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu by enclosing a copy of Permanent Community Card) in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favour of "The Secretary, Tamil Nadu Common Admissions, Anna University Chennai" payable at Chennai drawn on or after 29 June, 2010, should be sent along with all the enclosures, through registered post / speed post to The Secretary, Tamil Nadu Common Admissions, Anna University Chennai, Chennai - 600 025.
Counselling date will be intimated to the individuals through a call letter / Anna University Chennai website.

Note: Few seats in M.E. (Integrated Water Resources Management) are available for women candidates and eligible for South Asia Water Fellowship (SAWA Fellowship) of Rs.10,000/- per month (for which TANCET is not required) but, selection is based on an interview.Separate application has to be filed and on the top of the application write “Application for M.E. (IWRM) for SAWA fellowship”.
